Captain
Damase Aphose Jacques was
an employee of the
Detroit Windsor Ferry Company for 33 years, beginning around
1895. He was captain of various vessels, including the Ste. Claire
and Britannia for Bob-Lo for many of those years. The photo
above was
submitted by his great granddaughter Kimberly. It is an honor
to recognize Captain Jacques as the most historic crew member
recorded on this web site. Captain Jacques also patented the
Jacques Davit Winch, for life boats which was placed on many ships
